In yoga, what you wear is almost as important as what you do. The ancient art of yoga stresses long, extended stretches. The clothing you wear must support a free range of motion and accommodate the elongated poses as well as the inwardly directed ones. You will need to extend your body in and out and hold poses in order to stretch and tone muscles.

The best clothing for this type of workout is neither tight nor loose. It must fit comfortably without being too baggy and it must not constrict your range of motion. Your clothing must be breathable and not inhibit your movements. Clothing that is too tight will be uncomfortable, while clothing that is too loose will get in the way during certain poses.
